What to Do When Visiting Tremosine with Your Kids | M.C.M. GROUP DI MILESI MASSIMO & C SNC

Hiking, water sports and animals: in Tremosine, kids can really get hands-on with the natural world

Tremosine sul Garda has plenty of surprises in store for a family holiday, making it perfect for younger and older children alike. The various districts within the municipality offer a wealth of kid-friendly activities, ideal for all tastes and all ages! From excursions to windsurfing, via canyoning and gourmet tours, let's take a look at how to make your stay in Tremosine sul Garda an even richer experience.

Hiking along Trails and through Villages with the Kids

The 18 districts that compose Tremosine sul Garda – which not by chance is featured on the list of Italy's most beautiful towns – are immersed in lush, natural greenery. There are a plethora of itineraries to enjoy with the family, along easy roads and paths that are accessible by young and old alike. The nerve centre of our area is Pieve di Tremosine, with its fantastic balconies overlooking Lake Garda. The town's fascinating alleys and squares provide the starting points for a multitude of itineraries leading to other villages. As such, you can head off in search of the small settlements that characterise the upland areas, discovering hamlets, ancient olive groves, fantastic panoramas and remote churches on the way.

A Trip on Horseback

Horse riding is a very popular sport on the shores of Lake Garda, and a trip on horseback is sure to make your holiday all the more memorable for your children! Taking in trails and mountain paths, there is a practically infinite number of itineraries; in all cases, you will have the opportunity to discover our phenomenal part of Italy from a different perspective. For delightful horseback rides with an expert guide, we recommend that you contact the Agriturismo Nai.

Sailing and Windsurfing Courses in Campione

Having highlighted the options for excursions and horse riding, let's now turn our attention towards the shimmering waters of Lake Garda. Very close to Tremosine, there is an ideal place in which to fall in love with sailing: the little town of Campione sul Garda is renowned internationally for its constant wind – the indispensable ally of those who want to head out on sailing trips. From midday to sunset, the Ora wind blows from the south, whereas from sunset through to early morning it is the turn of the Peler, blowing from the north. Thanks to these two winds, at Campione sul Garda sailing and windsurfing courses are often held for children and teenagers. At the end of the lessons, it is of course compulsory to settle back and relax on the large beach!

A Visit to the Alpe Cheese Factory

Between one excursion and another on the Tremosine uplands, it is impossible not to note the presence of cows, goats and sheep on the pastureland. There, surrounded by the temperate climate of the lake, amid Mediterranean and Alpine vegetation, these animals graze peacefully, producing some extremely rich milk. It is, therefore, very much worth making the most of the local cheese factories to sample some of the dairy specialities, and to show the kids how they are made. A visit to the Caseificio Alpe del Garda is perfect, and you even get the chance to sample the traditional Formagella di Tremosine!

Canyoning on the River Brasa and the River San Michele

Here's an activity that's perfect for can-do families. Canyoning is an activity that enables you to get up close and personal with places that would otherwise be unreachable and with natural surroundings that are very much out of the ordinary. Together with a professional, and with all of the appropriate equipment, you can visit the natural pools, waterfalls, slides and canyons that characterise the ravines of the River Brasa and the River San Michele. With wetsuits, helmets and ropes, you can swim, slide and leap to places you’ve surely never been before. The Skyclimber specialists offer canyoning for families at varying levels of difficulty, starting from very easy sessions lasting around two hours.

These are just some of the activities that you can enjoy en famille at Tremosine sul Garda. We look forward to seeing you at the Residence Terry to discover your favourite. See you soon!
